Greater comfort during eye exams

At Vision Quest Optometry Group, we are always striving to make our patients comfortable during every exam and procedure. With that in mind, we recently added the new iCare Tonometer to our practice. This means no more air puff to the eye during exams!

Tonometers are used to measure pressure inside the eye, which is called intraocular pressure (IOP). Measuring IOP is a diagnostic tool that will help your doctor determine if you may be at risk for glaucoma. A tonometer is critical to early detection and early detection is essential for effective treatment of glaucoma, a serious eye disease that can cause vision loss.

As opposed to using a puff of air to temporarily flatten the cornea, indicating intraocular pressure, the iCare Tonometer measures IOP with a light probe that is more comfortable for patients and is a more accurate diagnostic tool for providers.

We are excited to have this option available for all our patients.
